It looks like our kids and teachers have too much time on their hands. So the ministry of education has come up with a competition that finally gives these people something to do.

With respect and Salavat to the Prophet and his lineage, we hereby announce that the attached Salavat recitation application for health and expedition of the coming of the Imam al-Hujjat al-Mahdi, may be used by school leaders to submit the names of students and the number of their recited Salavats by 12/08/1387 (Nov, 02, 2008) to the Education and Culture Baseej Unit of the district. In addition, students with the most number of recited Salavats will be entered into a sweepstakes where they can win prizes.

In summary, we believe that the more Salavats Muslims recite, the sooner Imam Mahdi will appear to purge the world from all evil. So this is a promotion to get kids to do this in prodigious amounts, and really expedite things. I suspect that once the twelfth Imam shows up, they’ll be telling the kids that the prize they were promised was the coming of the Imam.
